So for the past few issues, i have been taking photos or submitting recipes for Edible Omaha. It’s been a great way to try new recipes, come up with some of my own, and take pictures! This time for the Spring issue, not only do I have some inside, I made the cover! The shock I felt when I finally saw it was unreal and just pure joy. I am finally getting to so what I love to do, and people are able to see it.
Many cities have a local Edible, so check and see if your town does. Or if in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area, check it out 🙂
Today was way too cloudy to take pictures. Which worked out because it’s been a busy day. But I baked this evening, hoping that tomorrow is going to be sunny enough for about 140 pictures, 5 of which I will like.
Light-natural light, you need it. For me at least, you need it for great food photos. I use my kitchen table, some foam board, 50 cent poster board and way too many to name props. You don’t have to have a studio or an expensive camera to take pictures, you need patience, practice, and an annoying sense of perfection. Doesn’t always work, but it is always worth a try
